Pupillage
Chambers is a newly-formed set which is not recruiting pupils currently due to the specialist nature of its practice areas. We will be reviewing our pupillage recruitment policy within 12 months and any change to our policy will appear on this website.
Mini-pupils
We view mini-pupillage as important work experience, enabling students to see work in a successful and busy specialised set and providing an insight into whether the Bar as a career and our practice areas in particular are ones to which they could aspire.
Chambers recruits a maximum of one mini-pupil per month. Mini-pupils will spend three days with Chambers and will spend time with junior members as well as QCs where possible. Mini-pupils will be expected to travel to courts in London to accompany members of Chambers, but will not be offered travel or subsistence expenses.
We will ask mini-pupils to sign a confidentiality undertaking upon arrival.
Criteria for applicants
All applications will be assessed on merit and are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. We will not directly or indirectly discriminate against applicants on grounds of their sex, race, colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, citizenship, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, religion or political persuasion.
Given the limited number of mini-pupillages available, we will expect applicants to be undergraduates who have completed at least their second year of a degree (not necessarily in law), CPE/GDL students, or employees of graduate level actively considering a career at the Bar. In addition, successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- A high level of academic ability
- An interest in the law, legal systems, the Bar and our practice areas in particular
- Aptitude for a potential career at the Bar.
We do not assess mini-pupils for future recruitment.
